The Mystery of the Path of the Pilgrim Ladder
As players traverse the Path of the Pilgrim slums, they often spot a ladder resting on a high ledge near a wooden shed. Looking through the shed's window reveals a tempting treasure chest, yet there is no apparent door or path leading directly to it. Many players spend considerable time attempting to jump or find alternative routes, only to realize the path remains firmly blocked early in the game.
Advancing the Story to Unlock Access
Unlocking this tricky location requires players to continue their journey past Chapter 5 into Chapter 7. Upon reaching the Barren Swamp Bridge Stargazer, you will encounter a unique NPC standing near a gate. Speaking with this character allows you to receive an Old Cryptic Vessel, which serves as the ultimate key to solving this regional puzzle.
Decrypting the Cryptic Vessel
Once you obtain the cryptic item, travel back to Hotel Krat and present it to Venigni for decryption. After Venigni decodes the vessel, return directly to the slums along the Path of the Pilgrim. A new NPC will now be standing outside the locked shed, ready to engage in conversation and hand over the key.
Reaching the Hidden Chest and Ladder
Unlocking the shed door reveals a trap, causing the floor to give way beneath Pinocchio. After falling into the underground corridor, defeat the two carcass enemies waiting in the shadows. Follow the linear pathway upward across two ladders to finally reach the drop ladder, kicking it down to establish a permanent shortcut and claim your reward from the chest.
